Gering school board to hold initial meeting with consultant on superintendent search

The Gering School Board will meet tomorrow (Wednesday) for their initial meeting with the consultant assisting them with hiring a new superintendent. The Nebraska School Board Association was selected previously by the school board to be the consulting agency in the search process.

Current Superintendent Don Hague is retiring at the end of the current school year. and he says it will likely take the board until early next year to find his successor. Hague says he will not be involved in the process to find his successor and "that's the way it should be."

The meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday is expected to set some parameters for the search process, including the timeline for advertising and getting the process completed, plus a discussion of the qualities the board wants in a new superintendent.
