Jennifer Rogers new Director of Family and Community Programs for CAPWN

(Jennifer Rogers)

Jennifer Rogers, who has been Senator Ben Nelson's western Nebraska field representative for the past three years, is the new Director of Family and Community Programs at Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska.

Rogers replace Roy Lawton and will take over management of programs involving the homeless and emergency financial and food assistance including commodity distribution to 13 different locations throughout the panhandle. She will also manage volunteer programs like the Salvation Army and the Evergreen greenhouse.

Rogers says her duties with Senator Nelson taught her a lot about what CAPWN does for the community and she wanted to be a part of that help for those in need.

CAPWN Executive Director Jan Fitts praised Rogers as someone " who gets it" regarding the mission and role of the agency. Rogers is a Gering resident, married and has two children.
