UNL Panhandle Center Slated for Rennovation
A $3 million dollar renovation project is slated for the University of Nebraska Panhandle Research and Extension Center in Scottsbluff. In the coming months, contractors will replace the Research Center's Heat, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system. In a interview with KNEB/Rural Radio Network, Center Director Dr. Linda Boeckner says HVAC system is due to be replaced.
The renovation project will work around the University of Nebraska's Nursing College, so Boeckner says construction will begin in May.
The phone numbers to contact researchers will remain unchanged, but there will be lots of moving. Boeckner says researchers located near the entrance the building will move to the back of the building while other researchers will move their labs out the Lionel Harris Laboratory. The Scotts Bluff County 4-H Extension will also be moving to the Blue Stem Room.
When construction is complete Dr. Boeckner says the new HVAC system will make it a better environment year around for researchers and laboratory work throughout the building. The construction project is scheduled to be complete by August.
