Local authorities arrest man wanted on Omaha murder

Local authorities Tuesday arrested a 27 year old man wanted for first degree murder in the October shooting of a man near an Omaha motel.

Police Chief George Holthus says 27 year old Samuel Ochoa of Omaha was taken into custody by a member of the WING Drug Task Force during a traffic stop in Gering. Holthus said authorities had been alerted through Nebraska State Patrol intelligence that the suspect was at a local residence. Ochoa was believed to be here since November.

Ochoa as well as 27 year old Amber Perez were wanted in the shooting of 31 year old Rodney Hunt of Omaha, who was shot in the head October 8th at the end of a driveway adjacent to the motel. Hunt died a few days later.

Omaha police had arrested 23 year old Anthony Floyd previously on charges of first-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony in Hunt's death.
