Banner County High School begins innovative laptop program
Banner County High School has begun a program in which the district will provide a laptop computer to all 9th through 12th grade students after the first of next year. Principal Heath Johnson says the district believes the laptop program will prepare students for life after high school.
All the seniors currently have laptop, which is the pilot part of the project, and juniors will be getting them in a couple weeks.
Johnson says the program calls for all underclassmen freshman and sophomores) who receive laptops this year to get a new laptop when they start their junior years. Johnson says when they graduate they can pay for the laptop at a pro-rated rate or sell it back to the district.
Johnson says the program, coordinated through the school board and staff, has been a hit with the students and the parents.
