WW II bomber to be displayed this weekend
A World War II bomber that flew 15 combat missions will be displayed at West Nebraska Regional Airport this weekend. "Maid in the Shade" is being made available for public viewing and tours by the Commemorative Air Force Arizona Wing during a special tour this Thursday thru Monday of next week.
The Commemorative Wing's spokesperson Donna Brown says the bomber is maintained and operated as a flying museum and memorial. It took 28 years for the all volunteer team to restore the plan, which began flying again in 2009.
Brown says the bomber will arrive around noon Thursday. Brown says people can have pictures taken with the plane for a small donation. For a larger donation of $395 you can take a flight inside the plane. For reservations contact 480-322-5503.
