Mayors sign "Great American Cleanup" proclamation
The Mayors of Scottsbluff, Gering and Terrytown signed a proclaimation Wednesday at Gering business club at Gering civic center declaring participation in the Great American Cleanup during the month of April.
Keep Scottsbluff/Gering Executive Director Kathy Kropuenske says activities planned over April, May and June will make a big difference in the community. She says having the Mayors sign the proclamation and getting the community support is always very exciting. Kropuenske says it also bring pride to the community of keeping it clean and beautiful. And knowing that the "Great American Cleanup" is here, she knows a big difference will be made over the next three months.
Keep Scottsbluff/Gering Beautiful will host a number of activities in association with the Great American Cleanup. An electronics collection day, Earth Day at Panhandle Coop, free landfill days, and a pharmaceutical take-back day are just a few examples. Activities will begin April 19th with a cleanup day at the Scotts Bluff National Monument.
