Marilyn Louise Asiala

Marilyn Louise Asiala was born April 12, 1932 to Sakri Walfrid and Vieno Marie (Parkko) Asiala in Rock Springs, Wyoming. She attended Rock Spring Public Schools and lived with her parents and assisted in their home as a homemaker. She belonged to Trinity Lutheran Church where she attended worship and was involved in choir and ladies aide. She was an avid bowler and knitted and crocheted beautiful afghans.

Marilyn and her father, 'Wally', relocated to Alliance in 1987. After a brief illness Wally passed away and she made Alliance her home. She belonged to the Alliance Woman's Bowling Association, was a member of RSVP, and an active member of Immanuel EV. Lutheran Church. She loved music and attended the Alliance Country Music Jamborees.

In 2005 she became a resident of Good Samaritan Health Care Facility and loved all the residents and staff members. She was happy to be a member of the Good Samaritan "family" and participated in the many activities offered, bingo being her favorite.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, sister Dorothy Mae Francis. She is survived by her nieces, Barb (Jerry) Bowen of Murfreesboro.TN, Becky (Rick) Herian, and nephew Rob (Teri) Francis of Alliance, her aunt, Irma Ansalmi of Rock Springs, WY as well as numerous great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Memorial services will be Friday, October 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church with Reverend Martin T. Schnare and Reverend Richard C. Mueller officiating. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
