Dogs shot after Bomgaars employee threatened

Two German Shepards the Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's office says had previously harassed customers at the Scottsbluff Bomgaars store and then threatened the assistant manager earlier this morning have been killed. Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jim Gaspers says the assistant manager indicated the dogs threatened her as she opened the gates outside the store.

Gaspers says the dogs were strays that were part of a pack of dogs that had been observed in the area. Gaspers says it was determined they were dangerous dogs and he and Deputy Kris Still shot the dogs in a field approximately 100 yards from the store's parking lot around 11:15 this morning.

Gaspers says the assistant manager indicated two other dogs who are believed to be part of the pack were present when she was threatened, but they were not present when the shootings took place.
