Lena Mae Lisle, 95, Scottsbluff

Lena Mae Lisle, 95, of Scottsbluff, NE was freed from the cares of the world as she went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 28, 2013 at The Residency in Scottsbluff. Honoring Lena's wishes, there will be no funeral service or visitation. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill. If anyone wished to honor her memory, she would want you to contribute to the charity of your choice. Online condolences may be left at www.jones-mortuary.com. Lena was born Dec 20, 1917 in Abbott, CO to Cecil and Viola (Thomas) Brooks. She was one of 12 children. She attended school around Torrington, WY and started her higher education at the University of Wyoming in Laramie until her mother died and she returned home to care for the younger children. She married Everett Lisle on May 5, 1940. They farmed in the area for several years before being called by the Lord to go to the mission field in the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Belgium Congo), Africa serving there from 1953 – 1959. Lena and Everett returned to Scottsbluff in 1961 when they took over the management of the Bible Book Shop. The served there until their retirement.

Lena had many hobbies including jigsaw puzzles, reading, gardening and doing crewel and embroidery. She enjoyed baking cookies and frequently took cookies when she went to visit widows from the church. She was a long time member of the Berean Fundamental Church and served in many areas there.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ellen Nazarian of Gering and Linda (Verne) Anderson of Hanford, CA; two grandsons Joe (Coleen) Nazarian of Valencia, CA and Brian (Lois) Anderson of Cameroon, West Africa; two great grandchildren Samantha and Shane of Valencia, CA.
