Lugardita Esquibel, 95

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for LUGARDITA ESQUIBEL, 95, at 10am Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Rose Catholic Church with Father Ray Moss officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Lugardita died at her daughter's home in Wheatland, Wyoming on March 29, 2013. A Rosary/Wake service will be held at the church on Tuesday at 7pm. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3pm to 5pm and the casket will be open at the rosary. Lugardita was born January 14, 1918 in Clayton, New Mexico to Manual and Ramancita (Gutierrez) Chavez. They move to Wyoming in 1929. She met Frank Esquibel and they were united in marriage in 1936. Their union was blessed with eleven children they raised on their farm in Ft. Laramie, Wyoming. They later moved to Torrington, Wyoming. Years after her husband passed she moved to Wheatland, Wyoming. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Family was very important to them and their home was always filled with love and hospitality. Lugardita enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. She loved to raise a garden and preserve and can the fruits of her labor. Along with fruits and vegetables her garden was full of blooming flowers, she loved the smell and beauty they added to life. She would spend many hours sewing clothes for her children to wear and making quilts to keep them warm at night. She continued embroidering and quilting up to the age of ninety-three, amazing people with her talents. She had a smile for everyone she met and was willing to lend a hand when needed. She will be missed by her family and all who loved her dearly.

Lugardita is survived by her children Frank Jr (Jackie) of Alva, Florida, Jim (Lindy) of Clovis, New Mexico, Oralia (Stanley) Paules of Aurora, Colorado, Frances Johnson of Wheatland, Wyoming, Richard (Theresa) of Douglas, Wyoming, Rosie (Larry) Paules of Torrington, Wyoming, Steve (Pat) of Guernsey, Wyoming, Vicky (Dan) Daugherty of Casper, Wyoming, and Robert of Cheyenne, Wyoming; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-nine great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and siblings Manual Chavez, Mary Alice Vanorsdall, Marge Bradley, Barbara Carter, Adela Villa, and Efrien Chavez. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Frank; two sons Chris and Ramon; five brothers; and two sisters.
