Lt. Governor Heideman to make panhandle visit

Nebraska's new Lt. Governor will be making a swing through parts of the panhandle the coming Tuesday and Wednesday. He will tour Ogallala Comfort Company Tuesday morning before a tour of the Bridgeport community and the Prairie Winds Community Center prior to a meet & greet with citizens there at 1:45 p.m.

Then, Heideman will be in Alliance for a tour of downtown Alliance and meet at the Box Butte Development Corporation at 3:30 p.m. He will then provide remarks at the Nebraska Main Street Awards reception at Newberry's Coffee Shop at 5:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, Heideman will tour Sidney in the morning prior to remarks at the Nebraska Main Street Awards Luncheon at Sidney City Hall at 12 noon. Heideman will then finish his panhandle swing by attending a reception at Coffee Corner at 2 p.m.

Heideman, a former state Senator who was just elected to the University of Nebraska Board of Regents in November, was appointed Nebraska's lieutenant governor in mid February, less than two weeks after Rick Sheehy resigned the post amid a scandal involving his state cellphone.

Gov. Dave Heineman calls Heidemann "a proven, dedicated public servant for the citizens of Nebraska."
