Frieda M. Deines, 81, Scottsbluff

Freida M. Deines, 81, of Scottsbluff, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 1, 2013 at Chuck Wagon Church, 522 East Overland, in Scottsbluff with Pastor Al Wilson officiating. Inurnment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Cremation has taken place at Jolliffe Funeral Home and Crematory in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made in care of the family and will be designated at a later date.

Freida was born September 7, 1931 in Minatare to Jacob and Lydia (Britthouer) Walter. She attended Sunflower schools and was a 1950 graduate. Freida married Albert L. Deines on April 19, 1952 in Mitchell. The couple had two sons, Roger and Leroy.

Throughout the years Freida worked in various food service positions at businesses including the Copper Kettle, Baileys and Panhandle Coop. Camping and fishing and the outdoors were her favorite hobbies. She also liked to travel and visit relatives in Washington, North Dakota and South Dakota. Most recently, she had planned to travel over Easter weekend to New Mexico with her beloved caregiver and family, Theresa Garcia. Freida loved crafts, puzzles and word search books. Her hobbies also included playing the piano at many church services over the years and crocheting afgahns and dollies.

Freida was a member of Gering Zion Church.

Survivors include her sons, Roger A. (Denise) Deines of Taylor, North Dakota and Leroy (Theresa) Deines of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Jason Lee (Sonja) Deines, Lynell (Jason) Sutter, Ryan (Anna) Skarphol, Diandra (Levi) Kallberg, Isaiah (Stacy) Mobley, Reniah Blanco, Jesse Deines, Josiah (Florence) Mobley, Moriah and Tobiah Deines; great grandchildren, Madeline, Jadelyn, Kosmos, Renati, Kadence, Kenny, Alexiah, Kamdyn, Emersyn, Aniah and Joey; sister, Esther Weinmaster of Gering; and brother, Jacob Walter of Bayard; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding Freida in death were her parents, Jacob and Lydia Walter; her husband, Albert, in 1986; and siblings, Henry, Marie, Harold and Edwin.
