Pastor Ray Weinerman will officiate. A light lunch will follow at the church. Interment will take place at Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen, NE at 1 PM, where Isabel will join her beloved husband Jack in eternal peace.

The daughter of Leroy and Martha (McKee) Brown, Isabel was born in the family farmhouse on Blue Creek near Lewellen, NE on December 13th, 1915. In 1942, she married Jack (Urban S.) Adams of Ogallala, NE and in 1949 they moved to Oshkosh where they ran Adams Hardware together until Jack passed away in 1973. Isabel ran the hardware store until 1978, and afterward worked for Nerud Realty and at the Garden County Court House.

Isabel was a very caring and giving person, serving the Oshkosh community for many years as a member of Oshkosh United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She strived to preserve Garden County history as a member of the Garden County Historical Society, and belonged to two bridge clubs, and the Couples Birthday Supper Club.

Strong and independent, yet gentle and kind, Isabel always had a smile for everyone, and made people smile with her subtle sense of humor. She loved, and was loved in turn, by family and friends. She vehemently requested, in the winter of her life, that she remain in Oshkosh, the home she loved. In her final year, she was cared for by a community of her dear neighbors and friends at the Garden County Nursing Home and Garden County Hospital.

Isabel was preceded in death by her sisters: Margaret Callen and Ruth Brown, and her brothers: Paul, Charles, and Francis. She is survived by her two sons: John Charles Adams and his wife Janet of El Paso, TX, and James Richard Adams and his wife Gay of Cary, NC; four grandchildren: Melissa Jo Ediger and her husband James of Papillion, NE, Robert James Adams and his wife Lisa of Houston, TX, Mark Robert Adams of Raleigh, NC, and Robert Steven Adams of Cary, NC; and a very close friend of the family: Susan Eckdall Lake and her husband Dan of Belleview, NE.

Isabel will be truly missed by all.
