Airport Authority approves EagleMed financing

The Scotts Bluff County Airport Authority Friday approved a loan not to exceed $500,000 to assist with construction of the new EagleMed hangar and fuel farm. The loan through Platte Valley Bank and a $250,000 state economic development grant will cover the cost for the building, which includes not only the hangar for the three million dollar medical transport aircraft but also living quarters for the 17 employees. L.B. 840 money approved by the city of Scottsbluff to extend utility service to the building completes the over $1.1 million project.

Airport Authority board member Dr. Lou Kleager says the twin engine plane will provide needed back up medical transportation for Regional West Medical Center's Air link helicopter.

A three and a half percent tax free 10 year loan will be paid for through a $2,900 monthly lease payment from EagleMed on the building. EagleMed will have a one million dollar payroll and will provide additional boardings the Airport Authority needs to be eligible for one million dollars in federal safety and capital project money.
