Kenneth Richard Douville, 67, Scottsbluff

Kenneth Richard Douville, 67, of Scottsbluff, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 with his family by his side. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Nebraska Veteran's Cemetery in Alliance. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel between 2-4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2014. Kenneth was born November 24, 1946 at Spring Creek, SD to Fremont and Annie Marie (Red Bird) Douville. He received his early education at St. Francis Boarding School and graduated from St. Francis High School. Kenneth entered the Army and served in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge he returned and settled in Lincoln, NE where he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for one year. He was an AA counselor at the Indian Center. He met Royla Spence at this time and they were married ten months later on December 8, 1978. He was Director of the ex-offender program, later a security officer at the Nebraska State Prison. He eventually moved his family to Scottsbluff in 1982 and made his home here.

He is survived by his wife Royla, children: Tira Hernandez, Jose F. Hernandez, Tora Spence, Donna Knox, Kenneth Richard Douville, JR., Jerris Douville II; grandchildren: Sean Spence, Kristen Douville, Charlie Bush III, Tiana Bush, Royla Bush, Gimimila Hernandez, Blaine LaPointe, Leslie LaPointe, Manuel Douville, Hunter Spence, Joaquin Hernandez, Jerris Douville III, Jerristina Douville, Adam Hernandez, and Jose Hernandez, Jr. brothers: victor Douville, Gilbert Douville, Morris Douville, and Roland Douville, sisters Sandra Pease, marion Rabago and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Theresa Archambault.
