Esther De Etta Borth, 100

Esther De Etta Borth, 100 years and 13 days old, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard. Graveside funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with Pastor Ken Trevithick officiating. A memorial has been established to The Rock Foursquare Church. Friends may call at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel between 1-6:00 p.m. Sunday.

Esther was born December 27, 1912 in Ord, NE to Paul E. and Addie M. (Steckel) Whitford. She graduated from Sterling High School in Sterling, CO. She married Russell M. Borth, December 29, 1930. They moved to Greeley, CO in 1935 where they owned and operated the Mutual Grocery. They later moved to Sidney where she worked in the nursery of the Sidney hospital and then to Scottsbluff where they were managers of the Sunrise Village Mobile Home Park until 1990. They then moved to Melbeta. After her husband's death, she moved into the Lincoln House in Scottsbluff and then to Gering before moving to Chimney Rock Villa in 2011.

She is survived by her daughters: Norma (the Rev. Glenn) Metzler, Colorado Springs, CO, and Addie (Bob) Roberts, McGrew, NE; son: Loren (Alice) Borth, Las Vegas, NV; granddaughters: Marcie (Peter) Galetta, Colorado Springs, CO, Marilyn (Richard) McGee, Colorado Springs, CO, Lori (Dale) Snyder, Bayard, NE, Kay (Kenny) Manka, McGrew, NE; 10 great grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Robert and Edward Whitford.
