Ann Catherine Meininger, 97
Ann Catherine Meininger, 97, died at Community Hospital on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at the First Congregational Church with Reverend Matthew Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church.Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home and the casket will be open briefly prior to services at the church. Ann was born Feb. 5, 1917 in Sedgwick, Colo. the daughter of George and Amelia (Ewig) Peltz. She grew up and received her education in Colorado. She married Victor Meininger on Sept. 4, 1936 in Lyman. They farmed in the Cottier Community eight miles southwest of Torrington until 1978 when they moved into Torrington. She worked as a clerk for J.C. Penney for twenty years retiring in 1982.
Ann was a member of the First Congregational Church, the Cherry Creek Community Club for fifty years, and TOPS for many years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and doing embroidery.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Sharon Arnold and her husband Jim and Shirley Hess and her husband Jim all of Torrington, Wyo.; son, Robert Meininger and his wife Gwen of Lincoln; sister, Carolyn Richards of Denver; grandchildren, Robert Hess, Dana Harr, Mark Hess, John Meininger, Kim Crawford, and Todd Arnold; and great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hess, Robby Hess, David Hess, Andrew Crawford, Ben Crawford, Kinsey Hess, Zak Hess, and Kate Harr. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Victor; brothers, George Jr., Andrew, John, and Edward; and sisters, Marge Schreiner, Helen Drobnick, and Marie Richards.
