80 volunteers participating in United Way Day of Caring
A workforce of volunteers will be helping local residents with a variety of fixup and cleanup projects today (Thurdsay) as they participate in the annual United Way Day of Caring. Volunteers gathered at Frank Park in Scottsbluff for a kickoff breakfast this morning.
United Way Executive Director Steph Black says they have 13 different projects for the 80 volunteers to tackle.Black says the volunteers will be doing painting and small improvement projects, washing windows, spreading mulch and more.
Normally, the Day of Caring is done locally in late summer, but Black says this is the first year they will be doing it on June 21st, which is the "actual" Day of Caring in other United Way communities across the country.
