Lodgepole man jailed for threatening wife with pistol
A 57 year old Lodgepole man accused of threatening his wife with a pistol and also turning it on himself is in the Cheyenne County Jail. Steven High is charged with felony terroristic threats and use of a firearm to commit a felony.
The court document says the suspect indicated he had been depressed about being unemployed and a medical diagnosis that his wife had only four to five years to live. The document says the two began to argue Thursday evening and High pulled out a 9mm Glock piostol, and pointed it at his wife threatening to kill her.
The victim said he then pointed it at himself, lowered it and fell asleep. The woman said in a written statement she was "afraid for her life" Thursday night and Friday, and thought High was "really going to kill both of them."
Law enforcement was called when the suspect took the victim to a doctor's appointment in Sidney.
