Train-Pedestrian investigation continues
Police are still actively investigating a train-pedestrian accident that killed a 20 year old Scottsbluff man. The accident early on the morning of June 8th killed 20-year-old Christopher Wadding of Scottsbluff.
Scottsbluff Police Captain Brian Wasson says they expect to receive additional information from the railroad throughout the week. But he told KNEB News after conducting twenty interviews, there is no evidence to support criminal involvement. The engineer of the train told authorities the victim was lying on the tracks between 5th and 9th Avenue when the train hit him around 3 a.m.
Family members reported Wadding missing the next day and fingerprints were used to identify him.
Police are encouraging anyone with information about the incident to contact them directly and not share it with someone else so they can isolate the source of the information as they continue the investigation. Contact Police at 632-7176.
