U.P. Foundation makes contributions to local efforts
The Union Pacific Foundation Tuesday presented two checks totaling $15,000 to Panhandle Resource Conservation and Development and the United Way of Western Nebraska. A $10,000 gift was made to the RC&D while a $5,000 donation went to the local United Way.
Panhandle RC&D Executive Director Ron Moore says the money will help provide operational funds that were eliminated with federal budget cuts two years ago.
United Way Executive Director Steph Black says the U.P. Foundation contribution will help the local agency serve the 24 non-profit organizations identified in this year's campaign.
The U.P. Foundation also award contributions in Bridgeport, Sidney and Chappell.
