NWSS Holds Strong to Denver Roots
No longer is there any question about the future of the National Western Stock Show. After a year of analyzing the current facilities and event, a big announcement was made on the stock show grounds Tuesday. In a live stream provided by KDVR - Denver Mayor Michael Hancock announced the National Western Stock Show is staying in Denver.
Moving forward the city and county of Denver and VISIT Denver will work with the stock show to explore options to strengthen the stock show's complex, program and facilities. Hancock says the process will need to identify short term solutions for necessary facility maintenance as well as long term plan for a sustainable future for the entire 95 acre complex.
The first step is including Denver Coliseum and the National Western Show Show in a upcoming feasibility study that will be conducted by VISIT Denver
The announcement Tuesday appears to put an end to the show's plans to build new facilities outside the city.
