"Bigg Milt" Creagh returns to motivate

Milton Creagh with Gering Student Council President Megan Upp.

One of America's most in-demand motivational speakers has returned to the area to speak to students and adults in Gering and Scottsbluff about current culture and social issues that impact students of the 21st century. Milton Creagh, also known as "Bigg Milt", is a motivation speaker, television personality, author, corporate trainer, consultant, and a father himself.

Creagh told KNEB News that the world is a smaller place with the immediacy that technology brings. He says regional differences between kids have largely disappeared.

He says today, because of the internet, but even more because of television, he finds there is very little that kids in Chicago or Los Angeles have been exposed to that kids in Scottsbluff or Gering have not been exposed to.

He says, for instance, there was once a time where certain drugs were confined to regional areas. 20 years ago, methamphetamine and heroin were around, but were confined to a few select major cities in various regions. Creagh says those regional problems have now spread to and have become commonplace in small areas like Scottsbluff and Gering.

Creagh, former host of a National PBS series, spoke with Gering students today (Monday) and will visit with Scottsbluff High School Students tomorrow (Tuesday) morning and Bluffs Middle School students in the afternoon. He will then give a public presentation for parents or anyone who would like to attend at the Gering High School Auditorium Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.

Creagh's second visit to the area is sponsored by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
