Robert J. Lopez, 71, Scottsbluff

Robert J. Lopez, 71, of Scottsbluff, died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at his home. A Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2014 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering with Fr. Gerald Harr officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. A memorial has been established to Davita. Friends may call at the funeral home between 1-6:00 p.m. Sunday. Robert was born September 15, 1942 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Manuel and Manuella (Sanchez) Lopez. He came to the area at the age of four and worked in the agriculture industry all of his life. He was married to Theresa Martinez of Mitchell, NE. Robert was an avid Husker fan, bowled for many years, loved the outdoors, fancy cars and a huge Elvis fan.

He is survived by his wife Theresa, children, Laura (Carlos) Lopez, Scottsbluff, NE, Andy Fuentes, Jr., Laredo, TX, Tim Fuentes, Lincoln, NE, Priscilla (Greg) Blanco, Scottsbluff, Ne, Vincent (Cecila) Fuentes, Wheatridge, CO, Daniel (Victoria) Fuentes, Scottsbluff, NE and Veronica (Tony) Baldi, Arvada, CO; sisters: Connie Chacon and Ester Rangel, of Scottsbluff and Josie (Alvin) Magana, Julesburg, CO; 29 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and a sister.
