Fremont Motors helps raise $2,400 for Bluffs DECA
Fremont Motors, Scottsbluff DECA and members of the local community raised$2400 for Scottsbluff DECA at a recent test-drive event, as part of Ford Motor Company's Drive One 4 UR School program. More than 120 people from Scottsbluff and the area test-drove a Ford
vehicle at Bearcat Stadium in November, with Fremont Motors and Ford Motor Company donating$20 for each test drive. All funds raised go towards funding student participation at the NebraskaState DECA and National DECA Career Development Conferences.
Since the program's inception in 2007, the Drive One 4 UR School program has generate over $7 million in donations for high schools nationwide. The money raised during the Drive One 4 UR School program has helped ensure that extracurricular and co-curricular programs, like DECA, continue in local communities despite budgetary onstraints and funding cuts.
"I am pleased and thrilled that so many people from the area turned out to support ScottsbluffDECA, and what I consider our best Drive One 4 UR School event to date, said Phil Brooker, General Manager of Fremont Motors of Scottsbluff.
According to Derek Deaver, Marketing Teacher andDECA Advisor, "Fremont Motors and Mr. Brooker have been outstanding supporters of Scottsbluff DECA. The support, resources, and contributions provided by Mr. Brooker and Fremont Motors are invaluable and have made a large impact on our students. This just demonstrates their outstanding commitment to our schools and communities."
