Goshen County implements Full Fire Ban

Goshen County Fire Warden Bill Law says a full fire ban has been placed on all Goshen County lands until further notice. Law says the input he has received from the various fire departments about the dry conditions throughout the county left him and the County Commissioners "no choice but to enforce the ban earlier than usual."

Law notes the lack of moisture, low humidity and high winds have forced Red Flag Warnings nearly every day for several weeks. Law says with the current conditions, open burning and fireworks are especially prone to igniting fires that can quickly spread out of control.

Law asks for cooperation from landowners for the safety of residents and the protection of property. Law says as soon as conditions allow, the Full Fire Ban will be lifted or downgraded.
