Bluffs man arrested for stabbing
A 39 year old Scottsbluff man is in custody for the stabbing of his ex-wife's husband during a dispute over a vehicle purchase Sunday evening. Herman Torres was arrested for second degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Court documents say Torres is accused of stabbing Jason Lewison, owner of Precision Cycle, during a physical altercation over the sale of a vehicle Torres was buying from Lewison. Police say Lewison asked Torres to return the vehicle until he got insurance on the car. During the fight at the Precision Cycle location on Railway Street, Torres stabbed Lewison in the neck.
Police say Lewison called to his wife to help and when she removed a firearm from a vehicle in the garage, the fight ended and Lewison kept Torres at bay with the pistol until Police arrived.
Torres, who is working for Lewison and was married to the victim's wife until she divorced him when Torres went to prison, claims he stabbed Lewison because he had reneged on a number of deals.
