Mitchell man receives 90 days in jail for impersonating officer
A Mitchell man has received a 90 day jail sentence after pleading guilty to impersonating a police officer.
Twenty-five-year-old Bobby O'Reiley, of Mitchell, was arrested after officials say he tried to pull over a car on Interstate 80 near Sidney.
O'Reiley was sentenced in Cheyenne County Court Monday. He was given 71 days credit for time already served, which means he has 19 more days in jail.
Authorities say a motorist called the Nebraska State Patrol and reported a driver was tailgating another car, flashing the headlights and showing a badge of some sort.
The patrol says a trooper stopped the car and found O'Reiley had a security badge, a handgun and two cans of mace.
