Eugene A. Springer, 77

Memorial services for EUGENE A. SPRINGER, 77,will be held at 2pm Friday, May 31, 2013 at the North Hills Baptist Church. Burial of the cremains will take place following the service in the Fort Laramie Cemetery in Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Eugene died May 22, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Cheyenne, Wyoming and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later time. Eugene was born December 20, 1935 in Newell, South Dakota the son of Harvey and Emma (Graff) Springer. He grew up and received his education at various places in South Dakota. He moved to the Goshen County area in Wyoming. He lived in Jay Em, Wyoming for a while before moving to Torrington where he worked at local feed lots. He married Eleanor Peterson on August13, 1972 in Torrington. He started driving truck mostly for Huckfeldt Trucking. They moved to Ft. Laramie, Wyoming in 1982. Eleanor died in 2004 and he continued to live in Ft. Laramie.

Eugene enjoyed fishing, hunting, and later in life took up woodworking. He was a member of the Travis Snow Post #5 of the American Legion in Torrington.

Eugene is survived by two daughters Donelle Springer and her companion Larry Harmer of Torrington and Brenda Spaulding and her husband Mac of Casper, Wyoming; a sister Pearl Swartz of Spearfish, South Dakota; a brother Albert Springer of Howardwick, Texas; and six grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
