Wisconsin group buys Scottsbluff radio stations
The ownership of six Scottsbluff radio stations has changed again.
Legacy Communications has sold KOAQ, KOLT, KMOR, KETT, KOZY, and KHYY to Wisconsin-based Armada Media. Legacy Communications began operating the Scottsbluff stations in September 2007. Tracy Broadcasting owned four of the six stations prior to that time.
The deal, which was announced in a press release Friday morning, has already taken place, and Armada is already operating the stations under a local marketing agreement.
According to Armada Media President and CEO Chris Bernier the company traded two radio stations in Holdrege to Legacy Communications for the six Scottsbluff stations and two North Platte stations.
According to FCC records, Legacy Communications, LLC is owened by Grand Island Mayor Jay Vavricek and his wife Janet. Armada Media, meanwhile, is based out of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
