Scott theft and fraud trial delayed

A 42-year old bank robbery suspect has had his trial in a separate theft and fraud case involving ATM cards postponed until June.

During a Scotts Bluff County District Court hearing Wednesday, Judge Leo Doborovlny delayed the trial for Michael Scott of Scottsbluff after Public Defender Bernie Straetker indicated the forwarding of evidence to the defense was incomplete.

Scott is also facing trials for the robbery of Valley Bank and for assaulting an inmate while at the Scotts Bluff County Jail.

A motion to suppress evidence in the theft case was taken under advisement by Dobrovolny. The motion claims there wasn't probable cause for the search of a mobile home where Scott was arrested by Police and that the subsequent searches of vehicles and apartments exceeded the scope of the warrant.
