Police: Convenience store employee robbed at knifepoint

Scottsbluff Police are investigating a Sunday morning robbery of a convenience store employee at knifepoint on the west side of town.

Sergeant Pete Wysocki says the man entered the Sinclair convenience store at West Overland and Avenue I shortly after it opened around 5:45 a.m. Wysocki said the man threatened the woman with a knife and was given the small amount of money in the register needed to open the store. The man then fled westbound in a smaller gold car, according to the employee.

Wycocki says the man was wearing a white, long sleeve Nike shirt and a Ford baseball cap. The employee said she saw the car on the south side of the building when she entered, and believed it had moved to the north side prior to the robbery.

Police have a suspect and are continuing their investigation.
