Marjorie "Marg" V. Buskirk, 85, Alliance

Marjorie "Marg" V. Buskirk, 85, a longtime resident of Alliance, passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at Highland Park Care Center.

She was born August 11, 1928 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Edward O. and Hazel May (Truax) Marrill. The fourth child in a family of seven, she grew up in Minatare and graduated from Minatare High School in 1947. She attended one semester at Dakota Bible College.

She met her husband, Doyle Ernest Buskirk at the Minatare Church of Christ. They we married on January 2, 1948. They lived in the Scottsbluff area until 1967 when they moved to Alliance. They farmed in the Alliance area before moving into town in 1988.

She was an active member of the Alliance Christian Church. She worked at Hatch Drug, a job she loved because it gave her the opportunity to visit so many folks. Her most important job however was being a good mother and later an amazing grandmother. She always had a fun loving spirit and loved to play with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Doyle Buskirk of Alliance; her six children, Margie (John) Earlywine of Meridian, ID, Carol (Clyde) Steinbach of Meridian, ID, Terry (Teresa) Buskirk of Holdrege, NE, Mark (Leah) Buskirk of Alliance, NE, Debbie (Don) Forster of Wichita, KS, and Deanna (Delmar) Smith of Alliance, NE. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; her brother, Harvey Marrill of Parker, CO; sisters, Anna Mae George of Colorado Springs, CO, and Ellen Barry and Jeri Burns both of Sterling, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Memorial services will be held Monday, November 4, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alliance Christian Church with Pastor Russell Saito officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Alliance Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be given to the Alliance Christian Church or Summit Christian College, 2025 21st Street, Gering, Nebraska, 69341.
