Leslie "Jerry" Talbot, 91, Scottsbluff

Leslie "Jerry" Talbot, 91, of Scottsbluff, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, Sept 4, 2013 at Monument Bible Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Jake Roberts officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honor Guard. Visitation is scheduled Tuesday from 11am until 7pm at Jolliffe Funeral Home. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials may be made in care of the church. Online condolences may be left at www.jolliffefuneralhome.com. Jerry was born on November 26, 1921 in Afton, OK to Daniel and Myrtle (Slater) Talbot. After high school, he joined the US Air Corps as a pilot. He was a pilot in WWII with the rank of Lt. Colonel and flew 83 missions; pilots were supposed to only fly 25. He married Gladys Lillian Weiderspan on July 5, 1943 in Great Falls, MT. After his military career, he owned and operated Tri State Electronics, Inc. in Scottsbluff and Sterling, CO.

He was a founding member of Monument Bible Church in Scottsbluff; and avid hunter, fisherman, loved electronics and aviation. His favorite past time was spending quality time with his loving grandchildren. He will be lovingly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter Marjorie (Ronald) Marks of Kimball, NE; son Daniel (Diane) Talbot of Hudson, Mass; grandchildren Alexander Dickson, Melinda (Jeff) Thompson and Heather Dickson.

His parents, wife Gladys, son Bradford and 5 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
