Sheriff's office announces text a tip

The Sheriff's Office announced Tuesday a "text-a-tip program," which will allow cell phone and email users to share information with law enforcement. Any text-enabled cellular device or traditional email account is capable of sending messages to: tips@sbcso.org


Sheriff's Office command staff and investigators will receive and follow up on all tips that we receive. They will also will forward any tips unrelated to Sheriff's Office investigations to the appropriate agency.

This program is not intended to replace calls to the communications center for immediate law enforcement response. The communications center staff will not receive any tips unless Sheriff's Office
personnel relay them. Standard text messaging rates apply.
