Volunteers on horseback and in wagons drove about 550 steers from ranchland north of the city to the rodeo grounds at Frontier Park on Sunday.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports some of the steers will be used in bull-dogging, roping and other rodeo competition.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo starts Saturday and runs through July 27. Other rodeo events begin Tuesday.

Concert performers this year include Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Kid Rock and Brad Paisley.
