Scottsbluff moving forward with pilot recycling program
The City of Scottsbluff will be using 200 recycling containers to implement a pilot recycling program that would hopefully tie in to a pilot program Gering has been operating for awhile now.
Scottsbluff City Manager Rick Kuckkahn says Gering has identified someone who would haul the material to a plant that would separate out the various materials.
Scottsbluff council members voted to continue working with Gering to combine both cities recyclables into a single stream.
They have yet to determine where the containers will be placed, but Kuckkahn said they will be concentrated in an area to get a reliable assessment of the volume that a large scale recycling program will produce.
