Roger Frank passes away at 66
One of the area's best developers, real estate investors, businessmen and philanthropists has died Tuesday at the age of 66. Roger Frank passed away around the noon hour at Regional West Medical Center after a long battle with cancer.
Frank continued the success of Frank Implement Company, which his father started in 1957, but he also helped establish Scottsbluff businesses such as Walmart, Home Depot and Sonic restaurants. He also played a key part in the development of the Sears building and owned the Holiday Inn Express hotels in Scottsbluff and Torrington, Wyo., which he owned and operated for 10 years.
He was also very involved in the Scotts Bluff County Fair and was a key member of the entertainment committee that brought major country acts to the region. His classic car collection is memorable, and his acts of generosity extended to the Festival of Hope, the Scottsbluff school district and youth activities.
