Scottsbluff Police investigate rash of burglaries

The Scottsbluff Police Department is investigating several recent burglaries. According to Captain Brian Wasson, the burglaries have occurred mostly to businesses and are occurring near the center of town. The burglaries have occurred at businesses just west of Broadway as well as several churches on the west side of town.

Wasson says several of these burglaries occurred over the holiday weekend and efforts to identify items taken are ongoing. There have been no arrests made in any of these cases.

The police department would like to remind the public that a spike in property related crimes is common for this time of year and that ensuring vehicles and to ensure residences are kept locked. The police department also encourages the public to secure valuables out of view in vehicles.

Anyone with information about these burglaries is encouraged to contact the police department or Scotts Bluff County Crimestoppers 632-STOP (7867). The police department would also encourage anyone that observes suspicious activity throughout the city to report it immediately.
