Morrill woman, juvenile injured in accident

A Morrill woman and a juvenile passenger were taken to Regional West Medical Center Tuesday after the woman lost control of her vehicle on a county road.

Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Bibb says 21 year old Angel McMillian-Peters was traveling west on County Road F approximately three miles east of Lyman when her car went off the road and landed on its top. Bibb says the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and was airborne upside down for an estimated 48 feet.

Peters was complaining of back and possibly leg injuries while her son had abdomen pain. Bibb believes Peters had the more serious injuries. The investigation shows the child was not in a car seat, it's not known whether the driver was wearing restraints.

Bibb said he was planning on citing Peters for reckless driving and a child restraint violation. The accident occurred around the noon hour.
