Former Scotts Bluff County Sheriff dies
Former Scotts Bluff County Sheriff Jim Moore has died. Moore passed away this past Tuesday at Regional West Medical Center at the age of 66.
Moore began his career in law enforcement with the Scottsbluff Police Department in 1972. In 1992 he became Scotts Bluff County Deputy and served as Sheriff of Scotts Bluff County from 1995-1999.
Moore also was drafted to the Army during the Vietnam War in 1969 and received several medals of honor for his service before being honorably discharged in 1971.
He is survived by his wife Ann, son Kevin (Lisa) Moore, Isanti, MN, daughter Michelle (Matt) Oetken, Appleton, WI and son A. J. (Michelle) Moore of Gering, NE along with five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2013 at Mitchell Berean Church with Pastor Giles Armstrong officiating. Military Rites will be given by the Nebraska Army National Guard.
