Weborgs purchase Coors Building
A new event center is planned for the twin cities after Lisa and Troy Weborg Friday finalized the purchase of the Coors Warehouse and Distribution property on the Scottsbluff-Gering Highway from the Jim Raymond Estate. The Weborgs currently own the Steel Grill in Gering and Bar 64 in Bridgeport and Lisa says their new property will compliment their existing businesses and allow them to take it one step further.
Troy says the size of the warehouse "blew him away" and has the potential as a large venue for major bands, weddings, celebrations, and convention style events, adding with the food they can cater to this facility it is a "win-win situation". Lisa said the Coors property with its hospitality room and other areas in addition to the warehouse can host gatherings from ten to over 500 people.
Lisa says the Weborgs will try to preserve the "warehouse" feel while making it very enticing for special occasions. She also says the two and a half acre lot behind the warehouse is the "best kept secret on the Scottsbluff-Gering Highway" , and with its view of the Scotts Bluff National Monument and panorama can be used for outside weddings and gatherings
Troy says the south side of the back lot will be cleared for a large parking area and the hospitality room will be available this fall for private football and holiday parties with a bar and 60-70" television. The Weborgs will host Miss Nebraska Jacee Pilkington's fundraising event late next month to show what the warehouse is like now so people can compare to what it will be next year when it is finished to host large events.
The building will also serve as the office for the Steel Grill and Bar 64, will have a kitchen and locker areas for cutting meat, and possibly a retail area to sell wine and meat.
