Robert John "Bo" Bamrick, 57, Scottsbluff
Robert John "Bo" Bamrick, 57, of Scottsbluff, passed away at home with his family at his side Friday, May 3, 2013 following a prolonged illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Gering with Fr. Gerald Harr as Celebrant. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. Monday, May 6, at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Bo was born March 30, 1956 in Alliance to James P. and Gloria C. (Berger) Bamrick. He attended St. Agnes Academy in Alliance through 8th grade. Bo graduated from Gering High School in 1974.
Bo married Sylvia Peters in 1979 and to this union two sons were born, Russ and Tony.
Bo was an entrepreneur in his childhood and the talent followed him throughout his life in the cattle industry. He began working in a packing plant in 1974 where he knew everything inside and out. Bo then started his career as a cattle buyer working for various companies and independently until 2013.
Bo's hobbies included scuba diving, fishing, hunting, golfing, stock car racing, and playing cards. He earned his pilot license in 1979. Bo was also an animal lover. He was a member of the ELKS and Christ the King Catholic Church.
Bo was a loving husband and father. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and numerous friends.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia of Scottsbluff; sons, Russ (April) Bamrick of Gering and Tony Bamrick of Scottsbluff; siblings, Donna Rusk of Douglas, WY, Tom (Cherie) Bamrick of Green Bay, WI, and Kathy (Tom Barnett) Nemitz of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Makayla, Ashlyn, Abagail and Christian; step-grandchildren, Alicia and Mercedes; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ron and Pat Peters of Gering; sister-in-law, Sandy (Morie) Block of Yakima, WA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bo in death were his parents; nephew, Gavin Gantz; and brother-in-law, Steve Peters.
