Public meeting on Avenue I project slated for March 25th
The City of Scottsbluff in conjunction with Simon Contractors will be holding a public meeting on Tuesday, March 25th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. to discuss the upcoming Avenue I construction project, from South Beltline Highway to 27th Street.
This project is slated to begin on Monday, March 31st and will take approximately 55 days to complete. Residents or businesses along Avenue I are encouraged to attend this meeting at Westmoor School auditorium, 1722 Avenue K.
City officials, contractors and the engineers from Baker & Assoc. will be there to discuss construction time lines and phasing of this project. The meeting is open to the public and anyone interested in this project is encouraged to attend.
Public Works Director Mark Bohl says the project will include repaving of the street, curb and gutter, ADA, cutouts at the intersection, and replacement of bad sidewalks. The widening of the road by eliminating parking on the west side of Avenue I from West Overland to 20th Street will allow for a center turn lane and better traffic flow.
