Joe was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 31, 1943, to Bernard and Helen (Murtaugh) Mount. His construction career began early in life at 18-20 years of age, and continued throughout his life; traveling through many different states. Along his journey he found freedom in Alcoholics Anonymous and shared his legacy with many others. We can hear him say "I found a loving god in the fellowship of Alcoholics Anonymous, and the only way to find peace is to tell the truth about how to stay sober in a loving and kind way." As a result of 38 years of sobriety, Joe's principles were about love, God's grace, as well as generosity, and would give the shirt off his back to help others. Joe found two true loves in his life; first being Donna Murphy, who shared the beginning of his spiritual journey. He mourned her passing deeply. Then the Lord gave him his second love, Loreen Belgum, who was his perfect companion until the end of his journey here on earth. Joe was eternally grateful for both of them.

He is survived by his loving companion, Loreen Belgum, seven step children, one brother, numerous nieces and nephews, and many known and unknown people who have been changed by his wisdom he received by his loving God, which has been passed on to others. Joe's parents and one sister preceded him in death.
