Lucille May Draper, 99, Scottsbluff

Lucille May Draper, 99 of Scottsbluff, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 21, 2012 at The Residency in Scottsbluff.

A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2012 at the Residency in Scottsbluff with Pastor Rich Peterson officiating. A private family interment will precede the service at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff.

Since the Residency has been her home since 1989 and they have given her such good care over the years, the family would ask that in lieu of flowers memorials be given to the Residency Care Center. Her Book of Memories may be viewed at where online condolences may be made and memorial candles may be lit.

Lucille was born June 25, 1913 in Alma, Nebraska to James and Lenore Kennedy. She grew up in Boulder, Colorado and married William Raymond "Ray" Draper on June 11, 1932, making their home in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. They raised two children in Scottsbluff, Nancy (Don) Gillam of Scottsbluff and William "Bill" (Kathy) Draper of Long Grove, IL. She loved spending time hugging and loving her 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren as they were the ones that made her eyes light up.

Lucille was a member of the Methodist Church for over 62 years. She was also the Conductor for the local D.O.E.S Drove #21 and so enjoyed spending time with those ladies.

Lucille will always be remembered for her kind, caring and generous heart. She saw only the good in people and loved them unconditionally. She was a devoted and diligent housewife, mother and grandmother. Lucille loved flowers, baking homemade bread, cookies and sewing. She made this world a more beautiful place and will be sadly missed by all who shared her life.

Preceding her in death were her parents James and Lenore, two brothers Bob of Spokane, WA and Bill of Boulder, CO; and the love of her life, her husband Ray of 54 years.
