Daniel Schwab, 95, Torrington

Torrington, Wyoming – Daniel Schwab, 95, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Goshen Care Center in Torrington, Wyoming.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, January 12, at the First Congregational Church with Pastor Matt Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.
Memorials may be made to the church.

Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 5 pm at the funeral home and prior to the service at the church.

Daniel was born July 27, 1917, in Wauseon, Ohio the son of Michael and Katherine (Stoll) Schwab. He lived the past 80 years of his life in Torrington. Daniel served in World War II in Germany and was wounded while he was there in the U.S. Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. On April 10, 1980, he married Gertud Pietrezak in Torrington.

He loved to hunt, fish and go camping. He also enjoyed working. Daniel worked into his early 90's at Schwab Go Happy Camper and Repair. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, Disabled American Veterans, and Veterans Association of America.
He is survived by his wife Gertrud (Trudi) Schwab of Torrington; his brother Charles of Torrington; and thirteen nieces and nephews.

Preceding Daniel in death were his parents; his first wife Carolyn (Ault) Schwab; his daughter Karen Kay Kendall; his brother Michael; his sisters, Elizabeth Rhoades, Martha Eisenbarth, Mollie Fegler, Mary Jones, Millie Skurla, Anna Gantz and Rose Grasmick; and a niece Barbara Gill.
