Wildcat Hills motorcycle crash
A 51 year old Cheyenne man is listed in fair condition Tuesday at Regional West Medical Center after crashing his motorcycle in the Wildcat Hills south of Gering on Monday.
According to the Nebraska State Patrol, Randall Cottam was northbound on Highway 71 through the Wildcats on a 1981 Kawasaki motorcycle when he attempted to pass a slower 1992 GMC van driven by 62 year old Kathleen Green of Potter. The Patrol says Cottam struck the left rear of the van with the motorcycle, losing control causing the motorcycle to slide across the southbound lanes into the ditch.
Green was wearing a seat belt and Cottam was wearing a helmet. Damage estimated at around $1,500 to the van and $2,000 to the motorcycle.
