Irene was born December 24, 1918, in Scottsbluff, and she has been a lifelong resident in Scottsbluff. Irene met and then married the love of her life, John, February 6, 1938, in Harrisburg. Through the years the family lived in several farms and homes in Scottsbluff. In 1981, John and Irene built a new house on Monument Valley Drive in Gering, a dream come true for them. At one time they owned Bluff View Grocery, then later built Twin City Pack, where they worked side by side, John the butcher Irene the meat wrapper. She always worked very hard, from the time she was old enough to help in the beet fields alongside her Mother. But she was never too busy to cook for her family. She was an awesome baker, and excelled in the original German dishes. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Church.
Irene's Grandchildren made her life complete. Then arrived the Great-Grandchildren that she adored. Irene had a passion for crocheting and knitting beautiful afghans. She loved being outside with her plants and flowers.
Irene will be missed by all of us and always in our hearts, never forgotten. A Mother's love is always in bloom. The family would like to thank everyone at The Village and Golden Living Center for their wonderful care of Irene.
Irene is survived by her two sons, J Stanley (Jann Cheairs), and Norman H. (Sherry Pentico); grandchildren, Holly (Scott Steel), John (Molly), Greg (Polly), Scott (Jo), and Patrick (Tiffany); great-grandchildren, Erika, Brooks, Jasmine, twins Elizabeth and Sara, Claire, Audrey, plus Cassandra, and Olivia; sister, Ruth Feagler, Scottsbluff; brothers, Henry Feagler, and Dave Feagler (Sandra), Torrington, Wyoming; and numerous nieces and nephews.
